When JW first started, it was just me and my machine in a backroom of our house. Two years later, we officially opened our doors and began hiring. We focused on hiring truly some of the best in the industry, and it really paid off. JW was officially going strong and beginning to make a name for itself. We had 7 of the best designers and programmers in the business and I felt very lucky to be able to not only work with them, but to also call them my friends. Over the years, we all moved onto other projects and eventually, we closed the doors. Not due to the business failing - but because we were all getting offers to work full time for companies. That's when I decided to test out the corporate waters and see not only what it would be like to work for some of the bigger corporations, but also to see what it would be like to not have to wear EVERY hat in the business. It'll be 5 years this spring that JW has taken the backburner and we've all worked on our corporate careers. Now I use JW as a personal portfolio for my work.

User Experience is my passion
I'm a UX Design Lead currently working at Microsoft as a full time employee. Before that I worked as Creative Director for an advertising agency in Seattle. I've also run my own design firm for a steady 6 years. In my spare time, I'm a judge at webawards.org, I mentor students at the Seattle Art Institute and am an active member of the design community. I also somehow manage to be a mom to 3 small children and a wife to a wonderful man of 8 years.
Because a lot of the work I do is for big named companies in their top secret departments, I don't get to show a lot of my work here on this site. If there's something you're interested in seeing, please let me know and I'll do my best to provide as many details as I possibly can without having a bunch of NDA lawyers yelling at me.
“Jen is an amazing UX/ UI Designer and has natural talent in her profession as a desginer like no one else I have ever seen in this industry. Her can do attitude, attention to detail, polished designs, and turn around time from conception to completion makes her someone of value in this industry. She stands above her peers in a league of her own and is taking the design industry by storm. ”
Business, Design and User Experience are my 3 passions. And it is my belief that you cannot understand and master one without understanding and therefore mastering them all. I hope to share my knowledge with others who are just as passionate about the business as I am.
